Demo of the sixth sense. TED.

This is amazing, how interactive meets, retail, shopper marketing and the physical world. This demo shows how we may be gathering information, make decisions and interacting in the future, not to mention the it's the tip of the iceberg for usability design. fascinating!

NFL Fantasy Files: The Best Players

I'm not sure about the history of this, but the special effects are great. Clearly this is Reebok sponsored, I could not find a supporting site, but this video has over 7 million views. Fun stuff.

Help Us Help Dogs

Our client Pedigree(R) Food for Dogs is on the 5th year of it's campaign to support dog adoption. This year, it is supporting it in a big way with a superbowl spot which you can see here. To amplify this traditional marketing activity, we've created an online extension of this work, featuring "behind the scenes" back stories for the crazy pets and their crazier pet owners featured in the Super Bowl TV spot. And to mark Pedigree's commitment even more explicitly, we have built in the benefit to the user that each video watched will result in additional donations by Pedigree to support dog adoption through their charity, the Pedigree Foundation.

Funny stuff, great cause.

Hitachi frames flat screens.

At CES this year Hitachi spent a lot of time showing the public exactly how flat screens will integrate with their homes in the future. I touched on this in a previous post, but here you'll see another nicely designed stand and monitor frames. In theory we should be spending time choosing the frame of our flatscreen, just like we do when we hang nice art work in our homes. This also speaks even further to how technology integrates and blends with our home & work lives.

Keep your coffee off my table.

I came across this gem in the NBC booth. I don't have much info on it, unfortunately. I know i've seen this before somewhere. This digital coffee table is so interactive and easy to use. It's really impressive. You can see me sorting thru different cards there, each one with videos that can be played simultaneously, either full screen or small.... In short, I want one! If you know what this table is, please let me know. thanks....

Video Entertainment 8 Hours a Day

Did you see today's headline of eMarketer?  Research is indicating that Internet users in the US spend over 6 hours a day on video entertainment, and in 5 years they will be spending 8 hours per day.   That's a third of the day, the same amount of time many consider to be a good night's sleep.

As a marketer focused on the interactive space, recent articles and buzz over the growth of online video leads to excitement as there is tremendous opportunity.  My perception of this shift is positive given my position.  Years ago I worked in the more traditional space focused on print and broadcast, when I would have perhaps viewed such shift as a liability.

Even so, it seems unfathomable that I personally could spend a third of my day engaging with online video entertainment.  Perhaps if I were still sweet 16, or if I were retired.  I guess they could be using the term "video entertainment" loosely and that some of those 8 hours in front of the computer are for educational purposes.   I kind of like to think the society of Internet users maintains such level of integrity.
